lyrics

Let me tell you a story. Gather around
Of a creature both scaly and true
Four thousand, six hundred and seventy-five
In colors of red, green, yellow and blue
Roam this earth for the delight of me and of you

Bearded dragon, Crested Gecko, Blue Tongued Skink, Gila Monster
These are the lizards I know

Small head, short neck, long body and a tail.
Two hundred million years of perfection
In the evolutionary scale

Desert Iguana, Zebra Tailed Lizard, Panther Chameleon, Komodo Dragon
These are the lizards I know

Basking in sunshine. Moving their eyelids. Don’t need much water
With tongues that can smell
and claws that can grip….

Basilisk Lizard, Green Anole, Leopard Gecko, Black and white Tegu

Why go hunting for Dragons
When you can find a lizard
In the desert or backyard
Closest to you
